How do I compare prices?
- Firstly we do not cut out things that are necessary like the electrical connection or safe tray under how water cylinders.
- We have been around a long time and are going to be around a lot longer so your warranty will be secure.

- These prices are for our usual geographical area in Wellington. Kapity to Featherston and down to Seatoun and across to Karori and the south coast.

I can get cheap materials at one of those import places. Will you install them?
There are some materials we install depending on whether they meet standards and regulations so checking their compliance and suitability. Eg Brass products must not contain lead as its harmful. Gas appliances need to be in the Energy Safety database. Let us know what the products are and we can ascertain their installation requirements. Eg Bidet toilet seats and toilet sprayers have back flow protection requirements as the devices are high hazard products. This often requires some research. There are some products eg LPG bottle storage or dangerous goods that can take 1 1/2 hours of research as to what regulations apply. Or we have to hire someone with grey hair and 50 years on knowledge to figure it out.

$3999Glass on steel tank. Assumes piping and cable and valves are ok to reconnect. Has a tray in place with a waste. Inside with hot pipe insulated. In cupboard and not in ceiling space. Shelves are out and cupboard cleaned out. Take care with these prices. Most plumbers replace the valve kit as it will not last another decade or two and it is cheaper to replace it now long term. But if you want a super cheap price we can reuse the existing valves and piping and just replace the tank and reconnect the power cable assuming the installation is otherwise electrically safe. If not that will need fixing and that cost is additional.

There are many waste disposers on the market. We usually go with Insinkerator models as they are reliable and we have standard prices for the 40, 50, 70 range. The models are picked on noise and motor power and the mid range models come with a pressure switch.

$325Normal hours today or tomorrow. Our charges are $325 which includes 1 hour of labour on the job, GST, and travel within our local service area. Installation of materials is extra. Payment is on completion. We can usually fix small jobs in this time. If more time is needed we will give you a price before starting or during the service call. If something needs replacement we price the labour and materials to install it before doing any work.
- Urgent Plumbing Service Call – Local
$425You want it as soon as possible. Usually an hour or so. Our charges are $425 which includes 1 hour of labour GST and travel within our local service area. Installation of materials is extra. Payment is on completion. We can usually fix small jobs in this time. If more time is needed we will give you a price before starting or during the service call. If something needs replacement we price the labour and materials to install it before doing any work.
- Gas Service Call Including Central Heating
$370Today or within the next few days. Depends on our availability. Our charges are $370 which includes 11/2 hours of labour GST and travel. Installation of materials is extra. If something needs replacement we price the labour and materials to install it before doing anything. Payment is on completion. We can usually fix small jobs in this time. If more time is needed we will give you a price before starting or during the service call.
Extra Appliance $100. Central heating incurs the same price. We run through a complete safety check on the installation starting with a Leakage test on the gas supply at the meter. Pipe inspection, and determine if the gas appliance is working normally. Gas service calls are based on the existing installation being gas tight and not unsafe. Not just the item we are working on but the entire installation. Any faults that are unsafe will either be disconnected or repaired with a separate price. - Roof Leak Investigation – Includes two hours of labour with two people on a single level roof. Scaffolding not included. We wear harnesses to stay on the roof. $976
- Drain Unblock
$495We unblock your drain with a water blaster or drain machine within 50m of the road. We don’t leave until its unblocked. If the drain is broken it may need a section replaced. This is not included, and no repairs are carried out in this drain unblock price. See our drain investigation price.
Drainage Investigation
$485This is where you have a problem with your drains and we look up the drainage plan and put a camera down your drains to find the problem. We can only put a camera down a clear drain not a blocked one.
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is a fixed price. It is rare for us to change a quote because we have usually been to the job to assess the work. An estimate is a standard price based on some assumptions. There are a lot of standard jobs eg Dishwasher reconnection. Waste disposer replacement where we have standard prices. Looking for leaks is investigative and we usually have a work up to price. Once the problem is identified we then quote the work to complete the entire job including the investigation.
What if you take out a hot water cylinder and there is rot?
We would let you know and price it before going further. This is not a common problem but it sometimes happens.
