Before We Arrive: Quick Safety Steps
While you wait, a few minutes of the right action can save thousands in water damage:
Water leak / burst pipe:
- Find the toby (street shut-off valve) and turn it clockwise to cut the supply
- Open every cold tap in the house to drain the system and stop back-pressure
- Move electronics, rugs and timber furniture clear of the water
Gas smell:
- Don’t light any flames and don’t flip electrical switches (including lights)
- Open windows and doors to ventilate
- Turn the gas meter valve perpendicular to the pipe to shut off supply
- Leave the house if the smell is strong, then call 0800 484 353

Suburbs We Reach Fast
Because we keep vans based around the region, we’re genuinely local — not driving from the other side of town when you call at midnight. Typical emergency response windows:

These times are not guaranteed they are typical response times. There are factors out of our control such as road accidents and peak periods where roads are jammed. Peak periods into the city from Evans Bay to downtown can take 90 minutes. And if we have to divert someone from another suburb eg Johnsonville to Trentham that can take over an hour at peak periods.

Revised Times
Sometimes we have to get customers to agree to a revised time where something unexpected has occurred. Where new times are agreed that is not a failure of our arrival at the previous time.
